The first half of the season has been a nightmare for the Rossoneri, with their title-chasing rivals Real Madrid suffering a devastating 3-1 loss at San Siro on Saturday night.
After losing their previous six matches, it’s clear Milan will now have to do something drastic if they are to get back into Europe.
While they will miss out on a place in the Champions League, they are hopeful that the extra competition they will receive in 2018-19 will give them more incentive to work hard.
“We’re very optimistic, it could be a positive development for the team,” a source close to the club told The Independent.
“The Champions League is an important competition for Milan, as the other teams in Europe have a lot of Champions League money.”
“The team is focused on getting back to the top of Serie A and we need to improve in order to do that.”
That’s why we’ve decided to do everything possible to make the Europa league and we are looking forward to the game.
